Other Polymers Are More Heat-Resistant
One reason why manufacturers may seek out a PTFE alternative is if they are making a product that needs to be resistant to very high temperatures. Although this polymer has many valuable properties, it is only heat-resistant at temperatures below 618 degrees Fahrenheit.
