A quality solenoid valve is able to provide fully automated control of any system media. Different types of solenoid valves are used in a variety of applications, but when purity or sanitary processes are required, a PTFE solenoid valve is often the best option.

With both a standard and miniature sized PTFE solenoid valve, the automated control through the solenoid is still in place, but there is the addition of the PTFE on the wetted surfaces of the valve. The choice of PTFE or polytetrafluorethylene is ideal to both limit any potential accumulation of the media in the valve body, as well as to prevent corrosion. As this is a critical factor in ultra-clean, high purity, or aggressive chemical types of systems, these valves are an essential component.

Duty Cycles

In addition to top corrosion resistance, and a fully wetted surface of the valve, the best PTFE solenoid valve is also one that is rated for a long duty cycle. As these valves are typically in constant use during the system operation, the duty cycle is a significant factor to reduce the need to change out the valves or to complete maintenance on the valves.

In addition to the interior of the valve being made of the best materials, it is critical to ensure any PTFE solenoid valve is designed to work in systems with elevated temperature and provide the on and off or flow control precision required for the application.
