Having a retail store that looks different from the competitors is an important part of marketing and brand identification. Any type of retail outlet that uses free standing displays, racks and even shelving units can use tubing and tubing connectors to customize the look of their retail space.
Display Basics
Most displays will use 1-inch aluminum tubing and the corresponding size of connectors. This provides a solid, stable and very durable frame for any type of rack, display, storage or shelving unit. The same combination can also be used to create benches and tables for collections or for highlighting specific products throughout the space.
Unlike the actual aluminum tubing, the tubing connectors are usually made of a gray nylon. Once inserted in the tubing they are virtually invisible in the design. They are also non-corrosive and slide easily into place with just minimal force and no tools required. They also hold the fixture, stand or item solid and stable. With just a bit of force, it is also possible to remove the tubing from the connector, allowing easy reconfiguration or scaling up or down of the display.
Basic to Complex
Basic tubing connectors include the 2 way and 3 way 90s, which are used to create corners and sides. The 3 way tee can be used to provide support along the length of a free standing shelving until or for any type of display, particularly those for hanging items.
The four way 90 is also needed for free standing shelving displays or multiple rack types of fixtures. Caps for the top and feet for the bottom of the tubes provides a very polished look.
For more complex shapes there are specialized tubing connectors available. These include a six way, which can be used as a central connector for a larger free standing display or shortage unit system. Hexagon centers can also be used to create a spoke effect for clothing racks or displays for hanging merchandise and adjustable 2 ways allow easy configuration for any required angle.
