Dust is everywhere it is unavoidable dust in air ducts can be dangerous and not something you want to tolerate for any length of time. Dust is fine particulates made up of skin cells, animal dander, pollen and other miniscule waste products. Of course it is all around us at all times but keeping your air ducts clean can help to get it under control. Since dust is made up of many different particulates it can easily trigger allergies, headaches and breathing difficulties if it is not managed well. It can also leave your air ducts clogged up as it builds up. Dust is typically fine material that is lightweight but when it comes into contact with moisture (which is normally found in duct work) it can become almost sludge like and trap the air that is being forced through the duct work.

The Cost of Dust

Air ducts that are not clear are racking up your energy costs. Think of any pipe that is partially clogged, while some water can flow through the pipe, all the water is not getting through. It works the same way with a dusty air duct. Some air will flow through but not all the air which means that while you are paying for the same amount of energy to heat or cool you are not getting the same value. There is a product that can restore your duct work.

The Wear and Tear

Dust in your air ducts also puts an incredible strain on your heating and cooling systems:

  • Equipment has to work longer and harder for the same results
  • Overworking your equipment will reduce the life of your equipment
  • Your indoor environment will not be as comfortable as it could be

Something as simple as dust build up in your duct work can turn into a very expensive situation. Take the steps that you need to with Duct Armor!
