In the manufacturing business, plastic bags of various types are in high demand. A company, such as Amplas – one of the acquisitions of Hudson-Sharp, is a company with a bright future ahead. Amplas bag machine parts will ensure the equipment the company produces will continue to provide machinery that will carry on to profitably operate for years to come.
Amplas: A Brief History
Amplas is a producer of both plastic bag machinery and plastic conversion machinery. It has been in operation since 1979. Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the company was founded in Village of Howard, WI. Starting off in a small rented facility, it began to grow after partnering with a French company. Under the guidance of Dave Linsky, Bob Wech, and Giles Blaser, they began rebuild European plastic bag machines making them capable of being fully integrated into the North American market. This was done by restructuring the electrical components.
From this point, it was a natural step to designing their own improved versions of plastic bag machinery. The result, in 1981, was the first side weld machine. By incorporating Apollo 2000 Ltd, a machine component manufacturer, in 1982, Amplas was able to have a ready supply of Amplas bag machine parts. The result was the design and introduction to the public of the very first high speed bottom seal bag machine in the year following the meeting of minds. It was 1983, Bob Wech was still at the helm and Amplas was beginning to make its presence felt in the field of bag machinery production.
The company continued to innovate, shaking up the bag manufactory business. They built a new production facility in the Packerland Industrial park. It became the home for various technological advances in the bag machinery industry including, in 1989 the groundbreaking M2K bag machine line. With its arrangements with the Hensen Packaging Concept, the company now had access to the global rights for its outstanding stand-up pouch filling and sealing machines.
The company continued to innovate and develop its particular brand of plastic bag technology as an independent company until 2004 when it was taken over by Hudson-Sharp.
Hudson-Sharp Amplas Bag Machine – Parts and All
Hudson-Sharp (Thiele Industries) believes the addition of Amplas, and its ability to continually add to the innovative concepts and advanced technology of plastic bag machinery production, will prove beneficial. In particular, Hudson-Sharp is relying on the bottom seal technology of Amplas as exhibited in their BMBS series and the previous 1400 series of Amplas. Bag machine parts are still available for this desirable series.
