When Chachi Prasad and Karam Kim, a couple of natives of New York City, were making creative and stylish aprons in 2009 for chefs and restaurateurs, they had no idea that 5 years later, they’d own an apron and work-wear company that handcrafts it’s goods in California.
The high response from the culinary industry inspired them to start BlueCut to provide the market with a better alternative than the monotonous linen service goods they were used to.
How Are They Manufactured?
Your preferred apron is made from high-quality materials, consisting of denim, canvas, and twills, hand-selected from Japan, Europe, and the USA. They come from a variety of top mills including, Kurabo, Cone Mills, Isko, and Candiani. Some are stain, water-resistant and resilient, even in the trickiest parts of the kitchen. Before adding them to the product line, they are always tested for functionality and durability.
Design
Your BlueCut apron has facings located at the corners that prevent curling and bartacks throughout the aprons, which adds more strength at stress points. Other unique design features include:
- Darts that eliminate excess fabric and provide a proper fitting apron
- Handmade leather straps, signature hardware, plus rivets, in some aprons, to make them sturdier and stylish
- Neck-straps are adjustable with branded hardware and cotton webbing that is made in the USA.
- The cross-back strap design is excellent for people as they reduce the tug at the back of the neck.
- The signature clasp-back apron is perfect for those who don’t wish to fuss with tying and untying straps.
